Description: 

This position is located at the Henderson Mill site off of CO-9 between Kremmling, CO and Silverthorne, CO. This is a rural, alpine area approximately 2 hours from the Denver metropolitan area. The mill is at an altitude of approximately 9,100 feet.  In the winter the average high temperature is 28 degrees and the average low is 0 degrees. In the summer the average high temperature is 75 degrees and the average low is 40 degrees. The average snowfall in Summit/Grand counties is in excess of 200 inches per year.

Description
This position supports Operations and/or Maintenance in areas in an industrial setting (e.g. Mill, Tailings, Haulage, etc.).  Duties may include general labor duties and housekeeping.  Laborers work in environments where there are many activities taking place at one time and where work tasks change many times during a work shift.  This position will work under general supervision where the primary objective is safe production.
 
  • Area housekeeping to include tasks such as shoveling, using fire hose and digging
  • Operation of processing/mobile equipment (e.g. forklift, dozer, haul truck etc.)
  • Material lifting/handling
  • Operation of hand/power tools
  • Equipment/facility maintenance
  • Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business need
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience demonstrating a mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment

Preferred

  • High School diploma or GED

Criteria/Conditions

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • This is a Safety sensitive role
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electric shock, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, see and work in confined spaces
  • Occasionally may be asked required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Will be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
  • Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety foot wear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required
