Description

Skilled employee who under supervision safely performs process duties in the Moly Plant.
 
  • Supports and completes duties within the Moly Plant that could include the following areas: Leach, Roaster, Roaster Process, Moly Flotation, Moly Packaging and Utility
  • May operate, monitor and make adjustments to the following processing equipment and related systems: Leach system, chlorine system, Boilers, water softeners, hot filters, heat exchangers, Therminol Heater, Roasters, and Hammer mills
  • Completes duties within the Leach area that may include boiler operation & cleaning, hot side tasks, cold side tasks, Chlorinator system operation and monitoring
  • Completes duties within the Roaster that may include roaster operation & cleaning, Oxide transfer and storage tasks
  • Completes duties within the Moly Packaging area that may include bag line, briquette line, Can line, drum line and shipping/receiving tasks
  • Completes duties within the Utility that may include, cleaning of the weir tank: screens, sprays, drip ring, both inlets.  Inspection of nozzles and balls and maintaining door gaskets.  Receiving Moly trucks, weighing/storing product and chlorinator tasks
  • Take shift samples for material analysis as needed
  • Complete multiple inspections of plant equipment and processes
  • Operates mobile equipment such as: Man lifts, forklifts, skid steers, overhead cranes
  • Perform or assist with minor maintenance activities which could include: repairs to pumps, valves and piping systems, maintaining screw conveyors, the roaster, and bucket elevators
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Six (6) months of experience with material handling equipment in an industrial plant setting
  • LOTOTO procedures

Preferred

  • High School diploma or GED

Criteria/Conditions

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • This is a Safety sensitive role
  • Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms
  • Willing and able to work in a physical environment, including lifting up to fifty (50) pounds safely throughout the work day
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts that include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime in a 24/7/365 operation
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws
