Please note:  This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time.  The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations.  This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, New Hampshire, Michigan, Illinois and New York.  Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors.  Should the position shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.


Manage the entire Global Supply Chain (GSC) Contracting requirement in support of the Freeport global footprint. Manages a complex team focused on leveraging global (PTFI, NA, SA) GSC contract spend in excess of $1.8B in order to drive value for the company. Develop global contracting strategy and consolidation opportunities in conjunction with Operational and GSC management. Manages the contract life cycle process: from delivering tactical day-to-day contracting to providing critical strategic support to the various mine and processing sites; to include contract compliance, audit and oversite. Manage contracts team performance to meet service level targets, performance expectations and operational project production targets. Ensure staff compliance with GSC policies and procedures to limit company liability exposure. Develop and implement appropriate metrics and reporting tools to communicate performance with internal and external stakeholders. Design and develop training programs, tools and expectations to support talent development.

  • Manage a multi-team, multi-scope Global Supply Chain (GSC) staff of contract professionals to meet the entire spectrum of GSC strategic and tactical objectives and performance requirements. Develop and direct contract controls and global management for the entire Freeport base to include multi-site and multinational implantation. Responsible for oversite of contract full cycle management and implementation. Support the development of a corporate contracting strategy with the goal of creating global contracting alignment and contract consolidation resulting in improved operational efficiencies.
  • Develop key performance metrics and subsequent standardized reporting utilizing existing system to ensure contractor and operational continuous improvement. Analyze financial and operational data & provide strategic recommendations to senior management in order to drive value across the global organization in support of over 6,000 ongoing contracts.
  • Directly responsible for a team, that handles approximately 250 contracts per person, to protects the company from contract liabilities and exposures that could result in direct impact to our operational capability and capacity. Manages a team with direct red line capability to ensure business compliance. Has the ability to negotiate complex business arrangements including business & legal contract terms and conditions with various strategic and tactical partners/contractors across the global organization. Ability to effectively collaborate across the global GSC and operational organizations.
  • Ensure contractor compliance to contract terms and conditions, GSC, safety and operational policies, and applicable government regulations. Performs audit and oversite processes as required.
  • Develop standardized reporting and data collection for GSC centric metrics, including cost savings, sustainability, contractor performance, and contract related activities (RFPs, RFI’s etc.), cycle times, policy compliance and other relevant measures.
  • Develop and implement training documentation, presentations, and tools to promote standardization and enhance resource knowledge.
  • Sponsor or lead the implementation of new or enhanced sourcing and contracting processes. Support Category Management on all Tier 1 and 2 contract and assume overall responsibility of all other contracts.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and eight (8) years of experience in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related field including three (3) years of supervisory experience in purchasing, material management, logistics or a related field


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced quantitative degree
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Supervision experience (minimum of 5+ yrs)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources, analyze and take calculated business risks and drive strategic change within a team-based organization



  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
