Description

Under general supervision, provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership in the scheduling and prioritizing of contracting activities at assigned site. Oversee safety, quality, and performance of outside services contractors. Serve as site expert and Company representative, interfacing with contractors and multiple disciplines within company on contracting activities.

 

  • Perform contracting activities through the administration of contract requests, participating in sourcing activities and award recommendations, onboarding and offboarding of contractors, and issuing routine correspondence
  • Ensure contracts assigned to him/her are maintained and up-to-date and that the payment methods are in place to ensure prompt payment to contractors
  • Review and approve invoices for contractor work
  • Collaborate with Area Planners and Supervisors in the long range planning and scheduling for major production shutdowns that will require outside services support, including but is not limited to job identification, job priority, outside service requirements, material requirements, budget forecasts and contractor coordination
  • Lead and drive collaborative sourcing efforts with stakeholders in outsourcing activities to include, but not limited to, insourcing/outsourcing decisions, development of technical scopes of work, and contractor performance activities
  • Establish and monitor planned contractor schedules for plant/equipment within assigned area; review and assist in prioritizing work schedule; and review and report on contracting budgets, run rates, and forecastin
  • Monitor and report safety, health, and environmental requirements; ensure manpower and work force skills are adequate and quality standards are met
  • Provide guidance to operations/maintenance staff on contract control processes and activities; serve as technical expert on contracting activities
  • Develop tools and methods to assist the operating and support departments in communicating contractor requirements for their areas and follows up on contractor work quality and completion
  • Master a working knowledge of Company’s contracting standards, programs, and goals
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of specific experience in maintenance, supply chain, or operations within a mining/manufacturing environment; OR
  • High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related experience in maintenance, supply chain, or operations within a mining/manufacturing environment including specific Planning experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or related field and three (3) years of related experience in maintenance, mining/manufacturing operations or a related field
  • Working knowledge of contracting activities

Preferred

  • Advanced experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
  • Advanced knowledge of Purchasing, Creating PO’s and/or Service Orders
  • Legal redline review of Contracts
  • Collaborative Planning

Criteria/Conditions 

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English 
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Position is in busy, non-smoking office
  • Location requires mobility in an office environment
  • Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

Compensation:

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $69,000-$94,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
