Title:  Light Duty Equipment Repair Employee

Description: 

This position is located at the Henderson Mill site off of CO-9 between Kremmling, CO and Silverthorne, CO. This is a rural, alpine area approximately 2 hours from the Denver metropolitan area. The mill is at an altitude of approximately 9,100 feet.  In the winter the average high temperature is 28 degrees and the average low is 0 degrees. In the summer the average high temperature is 75 degrees and the average low is 40 degrees. The average snowfall in Summit/Grand counties is in excess of 200 inches per year.

Description

Skilled mechanic who under supervision safely performs maintenance, and repair of light duty equipment which may include quarter to one ton pickup trucks, skid steers, fork lifts, boom trucks, lube trucks or other light duty equipment.
 
  • Assists with and performs diagnostic, replacement and repairs on, but not limited to: engines, transmissions and transaxles, manual drive train and axles, suspension, steering, brakes, clutches, AC units and electric motors
  • Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance to include: oil and lube service, coolant system flush, transmissions services, filter and gasket checks, checking of water pumps, thermostats, belts, radiator hoses and clutch fans
  • May be required to perform welding tasks, such as: Carbon Arc and MIG
  • May operate equipment such as: forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining Work Orders, a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • One (1) year experience in Light Duty Equipment mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic electrical
  • Ability to read and use schematics

Preferred

  • High School diploma or GED
  • ASE certifications
  • Knowledge and ability to use various computer aided diagnostic tools

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Will be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, see and work in confined spaces
  • Occasionally may be asked required to life moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

Pay Range:

$25.15-$30.35/hourly

Rate of pay dependent on competency, experience, qualifications and skills
