What You Will Do
Facilitates shift activities for autonomous haulage mining operations, including coordinating the movement of equipment, personnel, and materials while partnering closely with mine operations and utilizing the MineStar Command system to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and aligned with daily production targets.
- Facilitate execution of the mine plan using the Command system, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues in real time, and adjust operations to maintain safe and continuous performance.
- Coordinate collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and technology teams to resolve equipment and system issues and improve haulage performance.
- Deliver KPI delivery by tracking metrics, identifying issues, and assisting with real-time adjustments while following direction and prioritizing tasks to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Communicate real-time updates on plans, system status, and decisions while documenting shift activities and supporting smooth handoffs to ensure continuity.
- Perform other duties as requested.
What You Bring To Freeport
- High School diploma or GED, and seven (7) years of combined experience in mining, heavy industrial industry, dispatch, fleet management systems, autonomy, project management, data analytics, continuous improvement, or data driven methodology
OR
- Associate’s degree in Automated Industrial Technology, Industrial Automation Technology, Mechatronics, Instrumentation & Control Technology, Business, Operations Management, Project Management, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Mining Technology, or other related field, and five (5) years of combined experience in mining, heavy industrial industry, dispatch, fleet management systems, autonomy, project management, data analytics, continuous improvement, or data driven methodology
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mining Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Business, Operations Management, Autonomous Systems Engineering, Project Management, or other related field, and three (3) years of combined experience in mining, heavy industrial industry, dispatch, fleet management systems, autonomy, project management, data analytics, continuous improvement, or data driven methodology.
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures and applicable safety standards
- Proficiency in computer operation and application
- Organizational and priority setting skills with ability to make complex decisions and prioritize outcomes
- Completion of required academic and practical competencies, including Line of Progression requirements where applicable, with demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills and pass required assessments with a score of 80% or higher
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience with Fleet Management Systems such as MineStar Fleet and/or Modular
- Diverse work experience across various areas of mining processes
- Conflict management skills with ability to handle difficult situations
- Ability to influence others and manage up effectively
- Negotiation skills to achieve outcomes in environments with competing priorities.
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $87,500 - $120,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
