What You Will Do

Under general supervision, you will provide advanced support for a wide range of technologies used in Mine Operations. This includes installing and maintaining onboard IT hardware for fleet management, safety, and operational systems, as well as wireless clients and 2-way radios. You’ll perform advanced troubleshooting to minimize downtime, support wireless networking and data communications systems, and assist in the execution of Mine Technologies projects. Your role also includes mentoring peers, configuring and monitoring wireless infrastructure, and contributing to the design and implementation of network projects. You’ll work with low voltage onboard devices and mobile infrastructure systems, and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring To Freeport

  • Four (4) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair plus one technical certification relevant to the role
  • OR six (6) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
  • Customer service orientation and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS/IT related field and two (2) years of experience supporting onboard technologies in mining or similar industrial environments
  • Four (4) years of experience supporting onboard technologies in mining or similar industrial environments plus one technical certification
  • Six (6) years of experience supporting onboard technologies in mining or similar industrial environments
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate’s degree in information technology or related field
  • CompTIA Network+, A+, or equivalent certification
  • Rajant, Cisco, or similar network certification
  • Electrical/Electronic certification
  • Experience troubleshooting Autonomous Technology systems
  • Experience with low voltage electrical systems
  • Experience programming/configuring hardware 

What We Offer You 

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $31.00 - $42.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
