What You Will Do

Lead high-priority research and media monitoring projects to deliver timely, actionable insights to senior leadership. Proactively analyze emerging issues, legal developments, and industry trends to inform communication planning. Monitor and compile daily media coverage from diverse sources, applying analysis to identify trends and refine strategies. Conduct time-sensitive research on issues, legal proceedings, and journalists, summarizing insights and providing recommendations. Partner with functions such as Health and Safety, Legal, and Sustainability to supply research and documentation. Capture and analyze business news broadcasts and manage company-issued media advisories and advertisement placements.

What You Bring To Freeport

  • High School Diploma/GED and 11 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field and 7 years of experience in media relations, public relations or corporate communications

OR

  • Master’s degree and 5 years of experience in media relations, public relations or corporate communications or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of media covering the mining industry and corporate communications best practices
  • Awareness of the company's industry, competitive environment and regulatory landscape.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in media monitoring tools
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and think strategically
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • High adaptability and resilience in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of media outreach and public engagement efforts

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $85,000-$116,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
