Where You Will Work
Our rod and refining plant in El Paso, Texas, is a key contributor to our ranking as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of continuous cast copper rod – a main material used in the manufacturing of wire and cable products. The refinery has the potential to operate at an annual production capacity of about 900 million pounds of copper cathode, which is sufficient to refine all the copper anode we produce at our Miami operations in Arizona. The refinery also produces nickel carbonate, copper telluride and autoclaved slimes material containing gold, silver, platinum and palladium.
The beautiful city of El Paso features three universities, many community colleges and numerous schools. What You Will Do
Under general supervision, you supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit. In this role, you assign, supervise, and review the work of staff. You implement production plans according to approved schedules and participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult tasks as needed. As a Supervisor of Maintenance, you inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify problem areas, and direct remedial action. You conduct performance evaluations, prepare estimates for staffing, materials, and equipment, and maintain inventories and approve purchases. You also manage time, materials, and equipment use reports, train staff in safety procedures, maintain safety data sheets, and perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- High School diploma or GED, and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) in a mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
- Safety Compliance: Must be able to hold Strict adherence to industry safety standards through OSHA/MSHAW regulations.
- Leadership and Teaming skills: Managing and motivating people, delegating tasks, and conflict resolution.
- Communication Skills: Clearly transmitting thoughts and providing instructions to employees.
- Mentoring Skills: Developing and fostering the skillsets of Employees
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills: Devising quick and intelligent solutions when unexpected mechanical breakdowns or scheduling setbacks occur.
- Have Working Knowledge of the (CMMC) S.A.P /S4HANNA
- Preventative Maintenance: Must be able to plan, execute the maintenance shutdown scheduling of routine work orders and PM’s to minimize machinery downtime.
- Possess operational knowledge of rotating equipment, Pumps, Hydraulics/ Pneumatics Systems, Gearboxes and Boilers Systems
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $93,000 - $127,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
