Description
- Assists in identifying which drill holes require sampling from the Drill Pattern
- Must work closely and coordinate work schedule with dispatch and/or drilling and blasting
- Assists in obtaining representative samples following the appropriate SOP's
- Ensures that samples are obtained from equally spaced locations within the drill hole, the minimum sample weight is obtained, samples are correctly labeled, and the correct paperwork and computer work has been completed
- Assists with quality control; for those sample locations that are identified as locations for duplicate samples, repeats the sampling process on the same blast hole
- Ensures that the duplicate samples are correctly labeled and that both the original and the duplicate are identified accordingly for laboratory staff
- Transports and delivers all samples to the correct location for shipping to the assay laboratory, in a timely manner
- Marks material zones (ore/waste/leach) with flags in the field as required
- Responsible for verifying that equipment is functional and operating properly
- Ensures that all sampling equipment is cleaned after each sample has been taken
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- No experience is required

Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of site processes, equipment and infrastructure
- Able to use a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office
Preferred
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience in an area or areas relevant to the assignment
- Soil or rock sampling experience
- Experience operating mobile equipment
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to lift/handle/load/stack up to fifty (50) approximately twenty (20)-pound sample bags each shift
- Operation of hand/power tools
- Experience performing equipment and work place safety inspections
- Ability to work outdoors and in ambient weather conditions
- Basic computer skills
- Well organized and self-motivated
- Abilityto understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-relatedinstructions and procedures given in English
- Abilityto communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures,and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- A valid driver's license is required for this job
- Work is in an outdoor, mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, talk, hear and see
- The work requires the ability to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds and perform other similar actions frequently during the course of the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

Compensation:
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $16.50-$22.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
