Where You Will Work   

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Description

Under general supervision, supervises, coordinates and controls the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.

 

  • Assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff in a facilities and public recreation management setting
  • Implements customer service improvement programs according to management guidance
  • May participate in the full range of the daily operational duties with the members of the facilities team
  • Inspects and evaluates work in progress, identifies any issues, and is expected to initiate remedial action
  • Conducts performance evaluations, provides leadership and support to subordinate staff
  • Prepares estimates of the staffing, maintenance and resource requirements for projected work activities
  • Maintains adequate inventory of equipment and consumables to operate a variety of community assets effectively 
  • Approves purchases of materials and equipment, maintains employee time, and interfaces with maintenance staff
  • Participates as a company representative in community relations and other town site development activities  
  • Trains staff in the area safety procedures communicating company safety messaging regularly and clearly
  • Maintains leasing records, financial data in addition to supervising rental and utility billing for the company
  • Facilitates cross departmental alignment of housing management to overall company business objectives 
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) working in a facility and/or real estate management position
  • Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required
  • Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
  • Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding leasing, real estate, public facilities and allocation resources needed to ensure smooth operation of a busy work environment
  • Skilled in budget forecasting preparation, monitoring and administration
  • Ability to develop and maintain an ongoing quality service to company employees and residents
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Preferred

  • Supervision of operations of swimming pools, fitness center, and public recreation areas other community assets

  • Previous experience working in a facilities, customer service or property management environment is an asset

  • Experience of performing communication of site safety messaging and reviews to department staff

  • Experience with leasing of rental, utilities and services to townsite occupants

  • Experience with the implementation of residential and commercial leases and landlord tenant contracts

  • Experience with motel, guest property and RV park management

  • Knowledge of interfacing with facilities and maintenance management personnel

  • Demonstrable experience in customer relationship management including dispute resolution skills

Criteria/Conditions

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Work may be performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer You 

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $72,000 - $98,000/year. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
