Where You Will Work
Our Collaboration Hub in the Warehouse District of New Orleans, Louisiana, serves as an important location for our global support groups, including investor relations, finance, engineering, marketing, communications, and information technology. Employees in New Orleans mostly follow a hybrid schedule where they collaborate virtually and may be required to attend occasional in-person meetings or training. The Hub is located inside a beautiful historic building and provides office space, meeting rooms, kitchen and dining space, phone booths, and technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. New Orleans is a popular tourist destination known for its rich history, architecture, cultural arts, music, and cuisine. Many great hotels, galleries, restaurants, and museums are a short walk from the Hub.
What You Will Do
Drive purchasing strategies and ensure successful acquisition of equipment and materials for major capital projects. Oversee the entire purchasing lifecycle, from developing negotiation strategies to managing vendor relationships and monitoring delivery of engineered packages. Develop and implement commercial and purchasing processes, procedures, and strategies aligned with project objectives, timelines, and budgets. Manage and optimize purchasing activities across projects to ensure efficiency and minimize delays. Coordinate staffing plans and assignments with project procurement managers, EPCMs, and vendors. Develop reporting systems for consistent information dissemination across projects. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure quality and conformity of purchase orders. Lead and mentor purchasing staff, assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training. Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment, identify potential supply chain delays, and develop mitigation plans. Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain vendor performance metrics. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices. Perform other duties as requested.
What You Bring To Freeport
- High School diploma or GED and ten (10) years of experience in capital project procurement management; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and six (6) years combined experience in procurement management, inventory management, system & project management; OR
- Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and four (4) years combined experience in procurement management, inventory management, system & project management
- Ability to take a leadership oversight role involving multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to manage a team of personnel including mentoring and guidance
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management for major capital projects
- Knowledge of corporate governance policies, protocols, and procedures for compliance
- Ability to support VPs, Directors, Project Managers, and interface with suppliers and contractors
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $95,500 - $134,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
