Title: Technical Expert, Maintenance Risk Assurance and Compliance

Provide strategic leadership and assurance for the Operations (Ops) Maintenance division in the design, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of the Freeport Safety Health Management System (FSHMS).
The role is accountable for ensuring the Ops Maintenance division aligns with ISO 45001, Government of Indonesia regulations, and Freeport-McMoRan corporate standards, while driving the elimination of fatal risks and strengthening risk-based operational discipline.
This position ensures maintenance safety systems are not only compliant but also effective, embedded, and deliver measurable fatal risk reduction outcomes within budget and aligned to production requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Risk Management & Compliance
- Direct development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the ISO 45001-based Freeport Safety Health Management System (FSHMS).
- Lead divisional fatal risk management (FRM) strategy, including identification, verification, and monitoring of critical controls.
- Ensure maintenance systems and areas are audit-ready and meet corporate and regulatory expectations.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
2. Safety Assurance
- Conduct internal audits, field verifications, and compliance inspections.
- Identify gaps, non-compliance trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action development following incidents.
- Ensure safety programs align with corporate standards and operational objectives.
3. Training & Awareness
- Deliver safety and risk‑related training sessions as required.
- Support rollout of new procedures, policies, and risk management tools.
- Promote safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and field engagement.
4. Incident Investigation & Crisis Advisory
- Guide complex and high-potential incident investigations.
- Ensure root causes, systemic failures, and control breakdowns are identified and addressed.
- Advise divisional leadership during crisis or serious incident response.
5.Cross-Functional Integration
- Serve as senior liaison between Ops Maintenance, Underground Operations, Site Safety Department, Corporate Safety, and Technical Experts.
- Drive alignment between operational execution and management system expectations.
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Approve and provide executive-level review of safety reports, investigation summaries, policies, and standards impacting the Maintenance division.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, risk registers, and training.
- Support monthly and quarterly safety performance reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, occupational health & safety, or related technical discipline.
- Ten (10) years of work experience in safety, industrial health, and risk management in high-risk industries.
- Extensive experience implementing and governing ISO 45001 or equivalent systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading fatal risk or critical control programs.
- Proven ability to influence senior operational leadership.
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 45001 and critical control management.
- High-level audit and assurance capability.
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills.
- Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ten (10) years of working in mine maintenance, processing (crushing and conveying), or mining industry specializing in safety, industrial health, and risk management.
