Develop and recommend paste fill design and technical activities in the Big Gossan Mine to ensure the quality standard is achieved in a timely and at the most cost-effective manner, to support production in compliance with company policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. The Technical Expert role requires not only technical expertise, but also the ability to transfer knowledge to others within the organization in a multicultural environment. This position involves gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Indonesian and Papuan culture, as well as building relationships, solving problems creatively as a team, and effectively communicating in different styles. The Technical Expert must also have a continuous learning mindset, be patient, adaptable, and able to work in an environment where work and personal life mix. Additionally, a strong sense of collaboration, mentoring, coaching, questioning, and influencing skills are essential for success in this role.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Big Gossan paste filling design to ensure the quality is meet standard and the processes achieve the determined target in a timely and cost-effective manner, and in compliance with company's policies and procedures.
  2. Review and recommend best practice materials and equipment usage in the paste plant to promote continuous improvement in Big Gossan paste filling.
  3. Develop JSA (Job Safety Analysis), policies, and procedures (SOP) for all new equipment and works, to provide a standard guidelines and direction to operation team in performing their duties.
  4. Coordinate with Big Gossan Engineering department to ensure that all paste filling design is applicable in the most cost-effective manner.
  5. Coordinate with Big Gossan Production department to obtain feedback in paste filling process as reference in developing paste filling design specifications to ensure the design will support existing or future production process.
  6. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly report to management (Big Gossan General Superintendent Crushing & Hoisting), which includes equipment availability, materials usage, and target achievements, to provide data and information about the status of the works/tasks and its issues which can be used as foundation for decision making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining or metallurgical engineering with eight (8) years of experience in large scale, complex Underground Engineering and Underground Operations especially in Paste Plant work Or High School diploma and (10) years of experience in large scale, complex Underground Engineering and Underground Operations especially in Paste Plant work.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Familiar with and having a license for all underground equipment required.
  • Good understanding in geological knowledge (rocks type and structure).
  • Proficient using (MS Office).
  • Be technically sound in area of expertise and have desire and ability to transfer that knowledge to Indonesian nationals.
  • Support and assist in the advancement of the assigned counterpart as well as other national employees, potentially including creating and managing developmental plans.
  • Build a basic Indonesian language competency including knowing basic greetings, questions, and work-related terms.
  • Adept at communicating using different styles according to the culture and context.
  • Ability to check for understanding for oneself and for the other individual by using questioning skills within the context of transferring knowledge and skills.
  • Establish trust and respect through the building of relationships over time.
  • Ability to influence through relationships, as positional authority is limited.
  • Understand and apply the coaching and mentoring process in the work environment.
