The Engineering Cost & Equipment Modeling Department is responsible for providing project management, engineering planning, cost modeling, resource optimization, and financial governance support for Underground (UG) Operations and Projects. The Technical Expert, Project Planner & Scheduler serves as the Senior Manager's primary technical resource for project planning, scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting. This role enables the Senior Manager to make informed decisions by providing accurate project data, schedule analysis, risk assessments, and resource forecasts. The Technical Expert role requires not only technical expertise, but also the ability to transfer knowledge to others within the organization in a multicultural environment. This position involves gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Indonesian and Papuan culture, as well as building relationships, solving problems creatively as a team, and effectively communicating in different styles. The Technical Expert must also have a continuous learning mindset, be patient, adaptable, and able to work in an environment where work and personal life mix. Additionally, a strong sense of collaboration, mentoring, coaching, questioning, and influencing skills are essential for success in this role.
Additional Responsibilities:
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Establish project work breakdown structures (WBS), activities, logic ties, resources, and milestones.
- Develop baseline schedules and support schedule approval processes.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules based on field performance.
- Identify critical path activities, schedule risks, and potential delays.
Schedule Analysis & Reporting
- Perform schedule analysis, trend analysis, and forecast completion dates.
- Develop schedule recovery and mitigation plans for delayed projects.
- Prepare weekly and monthly schedule performance reports.
- Provide progress measurements, milestone tracking, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Present schedule status and forecasts to project teams and management.
Project Controls Support
- Support cost forecasting, resource planning, and project controls activities.
- Assist with project budgeting, AFE development, and capital planning efforts.
- Support change management processes by assessing schedule impacts of proposed changes.
- Participate in project risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Resource Planning
- Develop and maintain manpower and equipment loading within project schedules.
- Identify resource conflicts and recommend optimization strategies.
- Support workforce and mobile equipment forecasting initiatives.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate schedule development and updates with Operations, Engineering, Construction, Maintenance, and Contractors.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings and planning workshops.
- Ensure schedule alignment across multiple projects and operational priorities.
Continuous Improvement
- Promote scheduling best practices and planning standards.
- Support PMO initiatives and project controls process improvements.
- Maintain schedule quality, data integrity, and compliance with established procedures.
Additional Technical Expert Responsibilities
- Serve as the department's subject matter expert for project planning and scheduling.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to planners, schedulers, and project controls personnel.
- Support executive reporting and strategic planning initiatives.
- Act as a delegate for the Manager or Senior Manager when assigned and provide leadership support for project controls and change management activities.
Overall Accountability
- Responsible for providing accurate, timely, and actionable schedule information that supports project execution, resource optimization, forecasting, risk management, and management decision-making across the Underground project portfolio.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and ten (10) years of experience in project planning, scheduling, project controls, construction, mining, or capital project execution.
- Five (5) years of experience developing and managing complex project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Experience supporting large-scale capital projects, preferably in:

- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience performing schedule analysis, forecasting, progress measurement, resource planning, and risk analysis.
- Experience preparing project reports and presentations for management and executive leadership.
- Experience in underground mining operations, mine development, or underground construction projects.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong planning, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present project schedule, and risk information to senior management.
- Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.

Preferred Qualifications
