What You Will Do
Under general supervision, provides technical support and guidance for projects and programs for the Sustainability Department in the areas of Responsible Sourcing, Climate Change and Human Rights.
- Assists in conducting and recording due diligence on environmental and human rights risks in the supply chain.
- Assists in developing and maintaining datasets to record actions for various purposes.
- Assists in reviewing and maintaining collaboration platforms for the Sustainability Team.
- Conducts human rights or climate change related research to enable team in decision-making, including benchmarking against competitors, peers or others in the value chain.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- Currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in Environmental Science or closely related field OR
- Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher in Environmental Science or closely related field.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Possesses strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Highly accurate and detail oriented.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
