Where You Will Work    

 

Freeport-McMoRan is a leading international metals company with global headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support our operations in accounting and finance, human resources, health and safety, information technology, planning, engineering, and more. Our hybrid internship program allows interns to work virtually as well as come together in person regularly at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or our site locations. Interns participating in our hybrid internship program will be expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance – 50 miles one-way – of the company’s corporate offices to ensure availability when meeting attendance/collaboration is needed. Interns living more than 50 miles away would be required to relocate and would be eligible for travel and housing assistance. 

What You Will Do

Under general supervision, the Talent Management intern assists in the research, planning, design and development of a wide variety of Talent Management programs, including the coordination and marketing of those programs.

  • Assist with deployment of Talent Management products or services (Employee Experience, Onboarding, Career Development, Talent Development, Employee Listening, and Inclusion and Diversity).
  • Assist with improving processes/practices within Career Development Team.
  • Assist in collaboration with other departments to identifying solutions.
  • Accompany team members to sites for Talent Management events or training deliveries supporting skill-based work.  
  • Facilitate certain Career Development workshops.
  • Data entry, PowerPoint, and administrative task as needed. Perform other duties as required.
  • Assist with conducting research and data collection through case studies and credible articles.
  • Assist with outreach efforts in identifying best practices and trends in the areas of, but not limited to, onboarding, retention, employee engagement, orientation, career development, talent development, and inclusion and diversity.

What You Bring To Freeport

  • Full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in an appropriate Human Resources or Business discipline or closely related field, OR
  • Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in and appropriate Human Resources or Business discipline or closely related field.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Possesses strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented.
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.

  • The estimated pay range for this role is currently $20.50 - $25.00/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on level of education and relevant experience.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear, and see.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the workday.
