Where You Will Work    

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you’ll engage in virtual collaboration as well as attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix or at one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

Description

The position is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing the organization's electronic communications infrastructure and user connectivity to email services. This role combines the responsibilities of an M365 Architect and an Exchange System Architect, ensuring seamless integration and enhancement of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online solutions across the organization.

  • Architect and design electronic communications solutions in accordance with the chosen strategies, focusing on Microsoft Exchange (Online) and its integration with other Microsoft 365/Azure solutions such as Outlook clients (desktop, mobile, and web), Email Security Systems, Microsoft Teams, and Mobile messaging support.
  • Lead the deployment and management of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online solutions, ensuring optimal performance and user experience
  • Oversee outsourced resources and provide expert guidance during troubleshooting. to research, identify, and resolve problems involving electronic communications and perform root cause analysis.
  • Define and enforce Policies & Standards for Electronic Mail usage and support. Implement security measures and apply industry standards and regulations for the Exchange and M365 platforms.
  • Optimize the organization's electronic communications infrastructure, ensuring efficient user connectivity to email services. Monitor and evaluate application performance to identify performance improvement opportunities and options
  • Provide ongoing support and consultation to team members and business customers, helping them optimize the benefits from available technologies, tools, and applications. Collaborate and coordinate with other areas, across the Technology and Business Organizations.
  • Strategize and innovate solutions to client problems within service level time frames. Research and recommend implementation and communication of new features and capabilities within the Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Create and maintain architectural design requirements and documentation for configuring and integrating mail services for all applications sending and receiving email messages.  Plan and execute projects, communicate progress, problems, and best practices to management, leads, and team
  • Define and oversee the daily administration of electronic communications services/software including M365, Exchange Online, Proofpoint, Outlook, mail routing, etc.
  • Responsible for global cost and storage management for the platform. Manage costs, budgets, and forecasts for the messaging platform, Develop and maintain appropriate metrics for the M365 and Exchange platforms
  • Lead and mentor the development of team members in assisting business customers with their questions and concerns related to the Microsoft 365 platform, providing escalated support and ensuring satisfactory resolution.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years of experience in the information services or content management field which includes four (4) years’ experience in business/technical systems/data analysis and/or project management and three (3) years of experience defining and implementing technology/business process improvement solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Exchange (online) and its integration with other Microsoft 365/Azure solutions required.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft 365 platform, its products, services, and capabilities.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in the use of PowerShell for configuration/administration and scripting operational tasks required.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and collaborate with other architects, engineers and Sr. Leaders.
  • Knowledge of working with MS Windows operating systems and mail client applications. (e.g., Outlook) on servers, workstations, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience designing and implementing Microsoft 365 solutions, including 5 years of experience with Exchange Online solutions or an Exchange Certification(s) preferred.
  • Experience administering third-party email security products (e.g., Proofpoint, MDO) and mail routing, enabling email for applications such as SAP, SuccessFactors, S4Hana, ServiceNow, and other applications, and integrating third-party applications and add-ins to Outlook.
  • Five years of experience leading technology project teams, working in Agile project management methodology, collaborating with developers, architects, and business customers, and using project management software (MSProject, Planner, DevOps).
  • Knowledge of a wide array of Microsoft 365 and Azure configurations, PowerShell scripting or other script languages, and experience with Microsoft Online (O365/M365) environment including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Forms, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience collaborating directly with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and gather solution requirements, analyzing business processes, and developing common data models. Embodies Freeport Edge principles and behaviors in all work activities and situations.
  • Experience with data analysis, manipulation, and conversion processes, tools, and solutions. Capable of leading and coaching junior colleagues.
  • Specific knowledge of data, networking, computer system security, and general knowledge of other technology infrastructure components and strong troubleshooting skills
  • Capacity planning and disaster recovery experience for an Exchange Online environment along with integration knowledge of Teams with Exchange Online
  • Elevated level of knowledge working in MS Windows operating systems at both the server & workstation level, and a working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
  • Strong ability to learn modern technology, consume information quickly, conduct research, analyze options and recommend solutions

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hardhat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $107,000-$149,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance.  Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.  Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements.  More details will be shared during the hiring process. Click here to view a sample of Total Rewards Estimate for this role.
