Where You Will Work
Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support our operations in finance, human resources, health and safety, information technology, planning, and more. Our flexible work program allows employees to work virtually as well as come together in person when needed at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. Employees can work remotely from most states in the U.S., with the exception of California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the position shift to in-person (office/site) work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time, so long as the position meets the established eligibility for these benefits.
Description
Plan, direct and lead the implementation of safety and health programs and develop data systems to build consistency across all sites within Freeport-McMoRan. Work with business process owners to understand tactical and strategic plans to support business process improvement and standardizations. Develop strategic initiatives (process and data systems) for health and safety initiatives, including fatality prevention.
- Lead and manage team to develop, manage and maintain various H&S systems for global standardization and provide oversight of health and safety systems. Responsible areas include incident reporting systems, incident trending and reporting, H&S SharePoint management, H&S database maintenance and upgrades, DSS (haul truck monitoring), incident management system, occupational health databases (Medical monitoring and SDS system), collision avoidance system (evaluation of vendors and implementation strategy).
- Lead a team of individuals in development and rollout of a fatal risk management system for all sites globally. Responsible areas include development of critical controls, tool kit, training for supervisors and employees, piloting process at sites, management of software application and evaluation for continuous improvement with a variety of vendors and suppliers in support of our ICMM Global objectives.
- Manage data analytics and provide information to sites for use in site safety improvement. Develop systems to enable better communication of H&S data to assist sites with trending of data and subsequent action planning, developing risk management systems to support fatality prevention and help reduce the company risk profile. Interact with senior leaders and executives to determine improvement processes based on data trends.
- Develop and manage a tool for tracking of leading indicator metrics to be utilized by leadership to evaluate the health of the safety process.
- Work with business process owners to understand tactical and strategic plans to support business process improvement and standardization. Interface with site H&S managers and general managers to ensure that their safety systems are meeting the needs of the site as well as meet minimum FCX safety and health requirements.
- Identify H&S system related issues within assigned business processes. Communicate issues and recommend solutions to management and lead resolution of these issues. Work as a liaison with IT on data management systems.
- Lead team members to develop stronger functional and technical skills for the applications which they are aligned to support. Where applicable, lead and motivate site safety personnel and leaders to assist with process improvement.
- Lead change management globally for H&S systems.
- Stay current on new business processes and/or new technologies that may impact business operations, process and information systems technology and methodology strategies, facilitation techniques and project management concepts.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and,
- Ten (10) years of experience in information services, process technology field including
- project management experience on medium to large system implementations
- Knowledge of risk assessment processes, occupational hazards, and safety precautions
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, statutes, regulations, rules, policies, and procedures
- Ability to coach and guide management toward implementation and management of H&S systems
- Ability to analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of requirements development, requirements analysis and operations management.
- Familiarity with H&S processes and regulatory requirements within the mining industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enablon and PowerBI experience
- Experience with Snowflake
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $107,000-$149,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
