Where You Will Work    

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you’ll engage in virtual collaboration as well as attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix or at one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

Description

Responsible for preparatory activities required during a project related to safe delivery of effective systems of work, competent people, and reliable assets. This position enables the rapid transition of facilities, plants, and assets from a project team to an operating business unit prior to and during the commissioning phase. 
This position is a pivotal change agent responsible for collaborating with both capital and site-based project engineering teams, site operations leadership and front-line employees impacted by any change associated with the project to ensure long term sustainable operations and a timely ramp up to planned production targets.

  • Lead evaluation of operational readiness activities with site leadership across all functions including but not limited to, maintenance and operations, materials management, accounting, safety, and environmental.
  • Serve as liaison between maintenance and projects team to verify sustainability of the new facility/system including necessary maintenance schedules (intervals, durations, content, staffing needs, etc.)
  • Collaborate with senior level Planners and front-line Supervisors in the impacted area for development of daily operations, routine maintenance, and major production shutdowns.  Ensuring the SAP system is built with a sustainable maintenance plan. Under the guidance of the Freeport McMoran Equipment Reliability Standards (FMERS) closely engages with area leadership to establish strategies for new equipment.
  • Engage with Global Supply Chain to ensure future support is well established including, but not limited to, warehouse levels and appropriate storage conditions for critical materials and parts, future contract requires such as scopes of work and labor offset and collaborative planning.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports for site management, to assist with the measurement of key performance indicators such as departmental budgets, weekly forecasting and other critical maintenance related KPI’s
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED AND seven (7) years of experience in Field Operations and/or Maintenance, Technical Services, Project/Construction Management, OR
  • Associate’s Degree AND five (5) years of experience in Field Operations and/or Maintenance, Engineering, Techn Services, Project/Construction Management, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND three (3) years of experience in Field Operations and/or Maintenance, Engineering, Project/Construction Management OR
  • Master’s Degree AND one (1) years of experience in Field Operations and/or Maintenance, Engineering, Project/Construction Management
  • Advanced knowledge of precision maintenance practices
  • General understanding of Mining and/or Process Equipment
  • Understand the importance of maintaining the integrity of information in the management (SAP) system to achieve the desired reliability objectives in assigned area
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic understanding of maintenance management systems and associated applications
  • Demonstrated professional/effective written and oral communications skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of project management principles, specifically operational readiness
  • Experience with project execution in the commissioning phase

 

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $85,000-$116,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
