Where You Will Work    

Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support global operations in finance, human resources, information technology, planning and more from the main office, satellite offices or online. As a Hybrid employee, you’ll engage in virtual collaboration as well as attend in-person meetings at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix or at one of our site locations. The Collaboration Hub provides an open, flexible workspace for individuals and teams to come together for various business needs. Amenities at the Hub include a working café, phone booths and meeting rooms with technology tools for virtual and in-person collaboration. In-person attendance may vary based on the position and department requirements.

Description

As a technical leader, provide guidance, expertise and mentorship for engineering projects, technical challenges and programs. Drive leading practice and transfer of technical expertise and knowledge.  
Contribute subject matter expertise in a relevant discipline as needed to improve outcomes, projects, and programs. Develop and shape problems so they can be broken into solvable pieces. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge in relevant practice areas and apply theory to achieve good practice across all relevant practice areas.  Use advanced techniques and engineering tools in the modification or extension of theories and practices of relevant practice areas and disciplines.

  • Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects and/or technical challenges within specific technical discipline.
  • Align engineering efforts with the organization’s strategic goals and contributes to the development of long-term technical strategies.
  • Communicates with others such that it leads to influence and change in strategy and execution within their discipline and scope/projects.
  • Consistently demonstrate exceptional technical skills and expertise, making significant contributions to complex projects and solving challenging technical problems.
  • Actively participate in relevant industry events, conferences, training; staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends and recommending new practices or changes to programs based on state of practice developments.
  • Collaborate and influence site and/or project management regarding strategy and execution of engineering projects and in addressing technical challenges to ensure standards are met and improvements are implemented.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes, products or systems.
  • Identify opportunities and provide input for strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.
  • Act as a mentor, coach and guide for developing talent within similar technical disciplines. Motivates peers and team members.  
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline and seven (7) years of experience in related engineering field; OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline and five (5) years of experience in related engineering field; OR
  • PhD in Engineering or related engineering discipline and three (3) years of experience in related engineering field.
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusion
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mineral processing plant operations experience
  • Ability to plan and execute metallurgical test programs to develop datasets for process design
  • Experience supporting mineral processing projects with flowsheet development and process design

 

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $113,000-$158,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance.  Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.  Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements.  More details will be shared during the hiring process. Click here to view a sample of Total Rewards Estimate for this role.
