Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations . This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and New York. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the positions shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.
Description
Research, analyze, and evaluate data associated with a variety of safety and occupational health functions and practices including but not limited to: injury rates, incident reoccurrence, data quality, and process improvement. Identifies safety and health related business trends which have potential to impact the company.
- Assist safety leaders in building a foundation of analytical capabilities throughout the safety organization. Coordinate the design, development and implementation of analytical tools, technology and business solutions that improve safety and business decisions and that drive operational efficiency. Establish and maintain working relationships with safety staff throughout the company. Deliver analysis to safety staff and assist them in delivering it to business leaders outside of safety.
- Contribute to strategic planning and data driven decision making with meaningful information delivered to senior leadership and other members of safety. Compiles reports, charts, and tables based on established statistical methods.
- Design and develop reports, presentations and visual aids designed to educate, inform and influence the decisions of safety clients and business leaders.
- Conduct analyses, typically of moderate to high complexity, of safety related business data and processes with emphasis on identifying trends, determining root cause of problems and determining solutions to manage them and that drive effective business decisions.
- Coordinate with the MIS department to develop and automate solutions for systems, reports, metrics, and dashboards.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in Business metrics/performance analysis. Preference for a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Business-related field.
- High School Diploma/GED and nine (9) years of increasingly responsible experience in Business metrics/performance analysis.
- Knowledge of standard safety metrics and familiarity with regulatory aspects of such
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
- High level of proficiency in manipulating data using Excel and other data tools
- Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written
- Skill in successfully completing delegated projects of some complexity
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects at one time
- Ability to analyze data and make appropriate recommendations
- Ability to work with general office equipment such as a personal computer and keyboard, facsimile machines and photocopier
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

Criteria and Conditions
- Position is in a busy, non-smoking office located in Phoenix, AZ
- Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by an elevator and internal staircase
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, hear, see, and talk.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
