Description
Under general supervision, keep utilizing drill core (DDH), fact map and other associated models to review the structural geology model of PTFI mines prior to release to clients. The position will work closely with the mapping team for data verification and quality improvement
- Review the existing structural models based on DDH, mapping data and other related geological shapes for improvement
- Assist onsite team to integrate and interpret all geological data (e.g., rock type, alteration, structure), assay, and mineralogical data into level plans and cross sections.
- Model the mineralogical and elemental data resulted by XRD and ICP to support the existing models.
- Assist core logging geologists to improve observations in accordance to clients’ needs.
- Assist Chief geologists at site in generating the district’s exploration plan including compilation and modeling.
- Work with Metallurgists in interpreting the comminution and flotation test results with regard to the existing geological domains.
- Assist UG team to improve the mapping and quality of observation
- Assist in generating the annual budget and other works related to Exploration (ENJ) program.
- Update the highlighted geologic models to clients either at corporate office or site
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
This position requires international air travel. - Bachelor's degree in Geology or related scientific discipline and five (5) years experience in geology or related scientific field, OR
- Master's degree in Geology and three (3) years experience in geology or related scientific field.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
- Ability to correctly identify and accurately estimate relative proportions and textural characteristics of metal-bearing and gangue minerals in a production setting.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the principles and methods used in complex geological analyses.
- Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experienced working in remote area
- Interpersonal skill in interacting with people of various cultures
Criteria/Conditions:
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

Compensation:
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $94,000-$132,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
