Please note:  This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time.  The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations.  This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, New Hampshire, Michigan, Illinois and New York.  Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors.  Should the position shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.

Description

Under moderate supervision, regularly demonstrate creative problem solving while overseeing the efforts of small project teams to deliver solutions to business problems. Works on moderately-complex issues and implements solutions by coordinating the efforts of a small team, defining solutions independently or collaborating with senior process and technical resources. Daily activities will include: documenting solutions in clearly understood language and, often, visually; communicating project status and goals to project stakeholders; deconstructing complex problems to help find simple solutions; collaborating with project teams to define workplans; and training, coaching and advising end users on solution use. Some latitude to set objectives, priorities and timelines that may impact department or individual work groups, and often collaborates with managers and/or functional site leaders, and has some interaction with external colleagues.

  • Work with the custom, packaged, business intelligence, and operations platform project teams on building and executing operational project plans and support. Ensures system analysis designs and process maps are documented and communicated with business executives and senior management.
  • Analyze business and systems needs in terms of functional and technical requirements. Support and promote MIS strategy that aligns with business processes and operations. Work closely with process leads globally to define business-centric requirements and evaluate available and/or custom system solution options.
  • Collaborates with internal and external teams that identify key suppliers, strategic alliances, and process improvements. Works with process owners, understands tactical and strategic plans in order to support operations. Understands all MIS-related user satisfaction issues within assigned business processes, communicate and lead resolution of issues with MIS management.
  • Provide specific business-centric expertise to global MIS projects. Help with production support, including system configuration, system monitoring, and updating interfaces.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience managing technical solution implementations; OR
  • Associates degree and five (5) years of experience managing technical solution implementations; OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of experience defining and managing technology solution implementations for Fortune 1000 organizations.
  • Communication
    • Produce communication plans and RACI charts
    • Produce informative status reports to project stakeholders and direct supervisor
    • Explain project goals and business requirements
  • Process Analysis
    • Capable of deconstructing a business process into system workflows and decision trees
    • Capable of translating a business process into system requirements
  • Implementation
    • Defines and manages technical implementations on small or minor projects
    • Can explain, coach, and advise end users on proper configuration and system usage

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude for managing projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Online (O365/M365) environment including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Forms, Whiteboard, Delve, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience Working in Agile project management methodology and Agile teams and working with Developers, Architects, and Business Customers.
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders to identify, analyze and gather solution requirements.
  • Experience analyzing business processes and using requirements to develop common data models.
  • Experience with data analysis and manipulation.
  • Experience with Visio and project management software (MSProject, Planner, DevOps).
  • Understands and demonstrates Freeport Edge principles and behaviors.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws
