Please note:  This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time.  The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations.  This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, New Hampshire, Michigan, Illinois and New York.  Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors.  Should the position shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.

Description

The Portfolio Facilitator (PF) is a servant leader and coach for the Team of Teams. The PF’s major responsibilities are to facilitate the Master Planning events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. PFs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Team of Teams using various tools, such as the Program and Feature Kanbans and other information radiators; Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Quarterly Master Planning (QMPs); Facilitate the master planning event and recurring Agile synchronization events with stakeholders; Facilitate Master Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, Backlogs, and through Pre-and Post-QMP Planning events.
  • Summarize program Portfolio Master Planning objectives into Feature Planning Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency; Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities; Encourage collaboration between teams and Architects.
  • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Agile practices and mindsets.
  • Help manage risks and dependencies, escalate and track impediments as necessary; Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks; Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the TEAM OF TEAMS and help them improve.
  • Improve the flow of value by improving and assessing the practices associated with Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline; Facilitate System Demos and Solution Demos.
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED AND eleven (11) years of experience in Information Services, Process Technology, Project Management or Professional Business settings, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND seven (7) years of experience in Information Services, Process Technology, Project Management or Professional Business settings OR
  • Master’s Degree AND five (5) years of experience in Information Services, Process Technology, Project Management, Professional Business settings
  • Experience leading Agile Transformation
  • Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP certification or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP)
  • Certified SAFe® Program Consultant (SPC)Comfortable with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in a dynamic environment working across multiple teams and organizations
  • Experience with evaluating and integrating open source and in-house developed toolsets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices
  • Measures quarterly objective performance and develop performance predictability metrics and executive summary
  • Enacting change & continuous improvement to increase the productivity of the TEAM OF TEAMS;
  • Leading the Program Team through Release Planning readiness and Continuous Backlog Refinement
  • Participates in and supports Agile Communities of Practice;
  • Collecting, documenting, managing, and helping to mitigate program issues and risks;
  • Maintaining stakeholder communications flow for transparency and awareness;
  • Escalating impediments that may impact the progress of the TEAM OF TEAMS;
  • Promoting Agile practices to all members of the TEAM OF TEAMS
  • Ownership of feature completion tracking, metrics, and corresponding communications both within and outside of the train;

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
