Where You Will Work   

In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.   

What You Will Do

Employee who under direct supervision performs duties related to the crushing and conveying process. 
 
  • Assist with and perform routine inspections on crushing and conveying systems
  • Monitor transfer chutes and belt systems
  • Assist with and perform the changing of rollers along the conveyor system
  • May assist with and perform the changing of screen panels and cleaning of tripper decks
  • May assist maintenance personnel in performing equipment maintenance activities on large ore processing equipment such as crushing, conveying, agglomerations and stacking systems
  • May use online electronic process monitoring system to monitor conveyor and plant systems
  • May assist with and perform regular work area or safety audits
  • Operate mobile equipment such as skid-steer loaders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, overhead cranes, and forklifts
  • Perform area housekeeping duties
  • Perform other duties as required

What You Bring To Freeport

  • Three (3) months experience in one of the following areas:
    • Mining/Manufacturing
    • Industrial Operations
    • Commercial Construction
    • Commercial Landscaping
    • Commercial Agriculture
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

 

Preferred

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Possess knowledge of environmental policies and responsible for reporting any issues and/or concerns
  • Possess knowledge of various crushing and conveying components
  • Ability to work a non-standard schedule which may include shift work (other than day shift) in a 24/7/365 operation

 

What We Offer You  

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $21.00 - $27.00 hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
