Description
- Photograph core
- Manual handling and transport of sample material (core, pulps) between processing areas and storage
- Palletize core
- Load and unload core boxes
- Split and/or saw core
- Weigh samples
- Mark sampling intervals
- Measure RQD, specific gravity, and point load
- Generate/place bar codes and scan for dispatch to the lab
- Prepare samples for analysis using appropriate techniques
- Perform sample preparation for quality control program
- Select Geomechanical samples (uniaxial, direct shear); wrap and mark samples; capture Geomechanical data and enter it into forms/spreadsheets/databases
- Validation of daily drill progress including Driller’s Daily Log entry and capture
- Assist with department administrative functions and processes
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six (6) months previous Core Tech job and/or experience
- At least one (1) year of experience in an area or areas relevant to the assignment
- Demonstrated high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
- Experience with SAP, ORAS, and/or CAS
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $20.00 - $27.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
